GTA VI on the horizon, and Elgato tunes its capture cards for it

Seven shorts went up, from a 4K X versus 4K Pro breakdown to a phone call asking a friend to approve a purchase.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What does passthrough means when it comes to capture? What does passthrough means when it comes to capture?

What does a gear company talk about when the biggest game of the year is still on its way? Mostly Grand Theft Auto VI. Seven shorts went up on Elgato's channel, and half of them point at Rockstar's next release in some way: a quick explainer on what passthrough means for a capture card, a side-by-side of the 4K X and the 4K Pro, and a little sketch billed as the moment someone phones a friend for permission to buy a 4K X on sale before GTA VI arrives.

The roleplay crowd got its own tip, too. One short shows GTA roleplayers how to bind the commands they would normally type to a Stream Deck key, so an emote fires with one press. Another, for the camera side of the desk, sets up zoom presets for punching in and pulling back.

The lightest of the week is a list of excuses after losing a match, from controller drift to plain bad luck, in keeping with the channel's about page, which opens by telling viewers their gear probably isn't the problem. Coming from a company that sells the gear, that line has a nice wink to it.

None of the shorts ran away with the week; each settled in the low thousands. The 4K X and 4K Pro comparison is the one gathering views fastest right now. Under the passthrough explainer, one viewer admits they expected the answer to be that capture cards are very expensive, and another asks for help with audio desync on wireless headsets.

The channel as a whole ran a touch below its usual daily pace, a little over 120,000 views across the seven days. Among similar technology brands it is a calm stretch almost everywhere: Microsoft Copilot drew far more than anyone, while Microsoft Developer and Microsoft Azure both slowed well below their usual rhythm.
