Satya Nadella in Seattle, and Copilot's viewers ask for Clippy back
Microsoft's highlights from its Copilot Insider Access day, with Copilot EVP Jacob Andreou alongside the CEO, became the week's most watched upload at close to 30,000 views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Copilot Insider Access | A First Look at What’s Next
Microsoft's Copilot channel spent the week on a single launch. Three uploads went out, all tied to the new Copilot, and they work like chapters of one event.
The biggest is "Copilot Insider Access | A First Look at What's Next," a highlights reel from a day in Seattle where customers got an early look at the product and heard from Satya Nadella, Microsoft's chairman and CEO, and Copilot EVP Jacob Andreou. Andreou then got two short videos of his own. In one he walks through Home, which puts Chat and Cowork in one place. In the other he explains Autopilot, billed as an agent that takes on routine and longer-running work. Four days in, the Autopilot clip is drawing the most daily views on the channel, just ahead of the 11-day-old launch film that started it all.
The comment section had its own idea of what comes next. Many viewers want Clippy, the paper clip assistant from Office, brought back as an agent. Others suggest Cortana's voice, and one compares the whole thing to the Zune.
The channel as a whole ran slower than usual, gaining around 1.7 million views over the week, and the subscriber count held at about 758,000. Among similar technology channels, only Nate Herk's AI automation channel added clearly more views, with Amazon Web Services almost level with Copilot. Two Bit da Vinci was one of the few running above its usual pace.
