Nose-to-nose trucks give Edison Motors a different perspective
Gideon's lowered Peterbilt joins an off-highway Edison for a walkaround covering clearance, cab space and two very different working lives.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
On highway truck versus Off-Road truck
The presenter climbs into the Edison cab and can look down at the roof of Gideon's Peterbilt. Parked nose-to-nose, the trucks make the distinction between highway cruising and off-highway work rather hard to miss.
"On highway truck versus Off-Road truck" was Edison Motors' most watched new upload, reaching roughly 160,000 views. This is a manufacturer's product comparison, but Gideon gets to show his own truck too, opening the Peterbilt's door to reveal its seating position and sleeper bunk. Outside, the Edison presenter demonstrates clearance by getting beneath his truck's cab, after struggling to fit a hand under the lowered Peterbilt.
The extra cab space has a purpose: Edison says it prioritizes room for drivers doing jobs such as hauling gravel and logs. Viewers pick up on the reclining room and legroom, while others ask for a comparison that pictures cannot provide: how the two engine brakes sound.
Edison posted ten videos across the week, with location updates tracing progress from the Manitoba border through Ontario to Quebec. "We are in Quebec" is currently drawing the most daily views, followed by "Harness install then drive testing."
There is also a new application for the company's diesel-electric hardware. "Introducing our Diesel-Electric Hydrovac" presents a prototype developed with OE Utility Services, which Edison says has been three years in the making. The longer reveal, "Unveiling Our Undisclosed Truck!", remains active beyond its launch week; its description makes clear that hardware updates and road-legal compliance work remain before production.
The channel added 2,000 subscribers, with weekly growth running somewhat stronger than its month-long pace. Daily viewing is also above usual. Among nearby motoring channels, GMC is enjoying a sizable lift while Chevrolet is quieter than normal. For Edison, the week's distinctive detail is smaller than a prototype announcement: enough space behind the wheel to lean back.

A walkaround like this is much more helpful than just the simulations. Thank you for doing this. And thank you to him for showing his truck.

@CooperTheHunterSee it on YouTubeIs it worth putting some rubber fairings under the cab to prevent debris or animals flying in and breaking anything?

@PootsMahGootsSee it on YouTubeIf you driven a truck for few years then you know all about that extra leg room it is no joke. Little details make life lot different even if you aren't 6'5" tall.
