  1. 0:26Rich and Sue agree to a timed bumper swap, with a trophy and interior color choice at stake.
  2. 2:26The countdown starts as Rich begins removing the old bumper.
  3. 10:13Jonathan joins Rich to help hang the replacement without scratching it.
  4. 10:44Backward brackets mean the bumper has to come down again.
  5. 17:15A missing final screw complicates the closing seconds; the clock expires at 17:32.

Rich thinks he can replace the project S10's front bumper in forty minutes. Sue accepts the wager, while Len and Jonathan turn the repair into a spectator sport with commentary and a lunch bet of their own.

The result is the most watched of 1A Auto's three new uploads, reaching about 10,000 views. This is the auto-parts retailer's own workshop series, and the faded, rusted bumper gives Rich a straightforward job with some decidedly unhelpful complications. He calls Jonathan over to help hang the replacement without scratching it, then discovers he has installed the brackets backward. By the closing countdown, even a dropped screw matters.

The comments add a little workshop conversation. One viewer recalls Torx-head headlight screws on an older Chevrolet; another wonders whether refinishing the original bumper would have better suited the rebuild budget. It's a useful contrast with the timer: not just how quickly a job can be done, but whether it needed doing that way.

The S10's other outing is more about range than speed. Rich replaces its small fuel tank with a larger factory-option size, then works through a clogged filter and a vacuum leak. That upload currently draws the most daily views among the recent videos. A Silverado problem guide rounds out the week, covering the channel's picks for trouble spots from rear-window leaks to shifting issues.

Across the catalog, weekly viewing reached roughly 2.5 million, while subscribers held steady. Daily views are above their usual level, as they also are at Edison Motors; Autotrader is having a quieter spell. For 1A Auto, the old S10 has supplied both the week's workshop entertainment and its most active new repair video.

What viewers say

  • Those torx head screws for the headlights ARE original, my 1983 C20 also takes the torx heads, I thought they were wrong at first too. Great video that was fun to watch!

  • A nice job is being done on this still solid pickup, and also bringing the tougher GMC 2500 back as a plow truck. But I didn't see anything wrong with the original bumper on the S10. Is it dented? All it needed to me was some refinishing with elbow grease and some fresh black paint. Refinish the original solid bumper, and help your rebuild budget.
