Early Preview w/ Jonathan Blow! - Order of the Sinking Star | Day9
Most days, Sean "Day[9]" Plott's back catalog of Hearthstone, adventure games and StarCraft history draws a steady crowd. This stretch has been a little calmer than usual, but the week had one guest worth the visit: Jonathan Blow, the designer of Braid and The Witness, sitting in for an early look at his new game, Order of the Sinking Star.
The description bills it as a massive puzzle adventure with more than a thousand hand-made puzzles, out on October 8, and the footage comes from a version still in development. Sean played and interviewed at the same time, which is the part many commenters cannot get over. Others note that he headed straight for one particular section, the way he once charged into the town in his playthrough of The Witness. A good number say they will not watch a minute more until they can play it themselves, and one viewer reminds everyone that Blow built his own programming language to make it. The video has passed 40,000 views.
The rest of the week belonged to two more Blue Prince sessions, one of them built around a clue a viewer handed him, and a fresh Mostly Walking on Monday. That one is The Last Door, a spooky point-and-click picked to set the October mood, and a day in it is already moving faster than anything else on the channel.
Among the let's-play and variety channels around his size, Lazy Mattman is having the big week, while Sean sits in the middle with a modest one.

Jonathan Blow + Day9 is a fantasy game design conversation I didn't know I had. Next we need them to make a regular podcast together? Or how about... design a game together...?!
