Granite Bowl to Cadillac Hill: Paul Maric finishes the Rubicon Trail in a stock Jeep
A two-day run from California to Lake Tahoe shared CarExpert's week with a second look at the refreshed Mitsubishi Triton.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Rubicon Trail review: Finished in a stock Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Moab
Paul Maric crossed one off the bucket list. CarExpert's longer upload of the week follows him over the Rubicon Trail, the rock-strewn route that gave Jeep's toughest Wrangler its name, in a Wrangler Rubicon 392 Moab that the title stresses was stock. The chapters read like a map of the trail: Granite Bowl and Whale Bone on the first day, Buck Island Lake and Rubicon Springs on the second, then the climb up Cadillac Hill before the finish near Lake Tahoe.
The other upload stayed closer to home and drew more viewers. "2027 Mitsubishi Triton/L200 - should you buy one?" checks whether the lightly refreshed ute still makes sense. The description says the changes go little further than the driver-assist settings. Paul's verdict sparked an argument underneath. Owners write about trips to the tip of Cape York and utes that start every time, others trade acceleration times, and plenty ask whether he simply has it in for Mitsubishi.
The channel's most watched video right now is older. The RAV4 GR Sport plug-in hybrid review, which asks whether Toyota came too late to the plug-in party, has passed 200,000 views in under two weeks. GWM's Cannon Hi4-T plug-in ute, which the description bills as a sub-$50,000 mic drop, is close behind.
Overall it was a slower week than usual, with daily views at about half their normal level, and that was the pattern across most motoring channels near CarExpert's size. Pushing Pistons had by far the biggest week of the group, and Sparks Motors was one of the few running above its usual pace. CarExpert's million-odd views over seven days put it third in the group, behind those two.

Paul, the reality is that you could take a triton anywhere in Australia and it will get you home.
