This Dachshund Is Taking Hot Dog Summer Literally
Brighter Paws usually reaches for big animal moments: an elk that came back, a groundhog collecting burritos at a front door, a cow that somehow ended up on a roof. Its newest hit is smaller and much lower to the ground. "This Dachshund Is Taking Hot Dog Summer Literally" passed 145,000 views within 18 hours, several times what a Short here usually gathers in a full first day.
The title carries the joke, and the viewers run with it. Many review the dog as if it had just come off the grill. They praise its even color, spot a bit of caramelization and judge it done to perfection. One orders three with everything on them. Another calls it a mini corn dog. A few write out what the dog might be thinking, from a resigned shrug to a polite request to be turned over. Others take the dog's side and tell everyone to let it enjoy the warmth in peace.
Under the jokes sits a real memory. A viewer who grew up with two dachshunds says they have never met another dog that loved heat so much, and that their mother used to worry about how close the pair lay to the fireplace. The comments are arriving about four times faster than on a usual first day here.
The summer joke lands in October, on a quieter stretch for the channel as a whole. The other Shorts posted the same day, a goose with a well-dressed entourage and a duck army among them, are still in the thousands, and even the rooftop cow from the day before sits well behind the sunbathing sausage dog.

We had two when I was growing up and I have never seen another dog that loves the heat as much. My Mom seriously worried because they wanted to lay so close to the fireplace
