Taurine, belly fat and a steroids reality check on Bodybuilding.com
Dr. Jim Stoppani fronts two of the four new uploads, one reading through 23 studies on a single dose of taurine.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Single-Dose Supplement for Instant Strength & Endurance
Dr. Jim Stoppani did most of the talking. The exercise physiologist, long a familiar face on this channel, opened the week with "The Single-Dose Supplement for Instant Strength & Endurance," a walk through a meta-analysis of 23 studies on what one dose of taurine does to a workout. It now has the most views of the four new uploads, a little over 23,000.
Two days later he came back with "The Secret to Losing Belly Fat," billed as new research that pushes against the old gym rule that you cannot burn fat from one chosen spot. It started later, but it is the video drawing the most views per day right now, several times what the taurine review gathers.
Between them sat "Steroids Aren't Magic," a short argument for fixing diet and training before reaching for anything else, and the week closed with "The Future of Wellness," a look at health coaching that has made a brisk start in its first two days. An older Stoppani answer, "What Is The Best Way To Build Traps?", is still finding shrug enthusiasts two weeks on.
The fitness neighborhood is lively. Chris Heria is running at about three times his usual daily views, Jesse James West at roughly double, and Chris Bumstead and THENX are also well above their norm. Among those nine channels, Bodybuilding.com sits sixth by subscribers, a site that has been at this since 1999, explaining the science one supplement at a time.
