Big Nibbles brings Fallout's Nuka-Cola to the kitchen
Classic cola, spiced rum and a blue gummy-worm garnish supply three very different answers to post-apocalypse thirst.
Why this story? One of the most watched videos since yesterday, with 790,564 views.
Making 3 Nuka Colas
Big Nibbles wants to know which Nuka-Cola he would drink after a nuclear apocalypse. His kitchen versions of Fallout's fictional soft drinks have drawn nearly 800,000 views since yesterday, with the brightest bottle making the strongest impression on him.
In "Making 3 Nuka Colas", the original starts with a homemade syrup of white and brown sugar, spices, cola nut powder, citrus peel and vanilla, mixed with fizzy water. The verdict is less refreshing than nostalgic: "It tastes more like Coca-Cola's dad."
Spiced rum turns that base into Nuka-Cola Dark, which he declares an improvement. Quantum takes a different route altogether: lemon and lime syrup, citric acid, blue juice, food colouring and sparkling water, finished with a gummy worm. It doesn't really taste like cola, he says, but it is his favourite.
Viewers are comparing the recipes with Fallout lore, recalling Nuka-World and questioning what counts as a light alcoholic twist. Big Nibbles ends his own tasting with a suitably in-universe verdict: "Worth the radiation."
