Tasty Table's bitter first bite becomes pear-and-caramel sweetness
A sapodilla tasting supplies the week's most-watched new upload, with ripeness making all the difference.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I almost poisoned myself with a fruit #tropicalfruit #fruit
The sticky white latex was the first clue that this fruit needed more time. In Tasty Table's new Short, the presenter bites into an unripe sapodilla, finds it bitter and describes her lips sticking together. A few days later, soft and wrinkled, the fruit offers a very different tasting: brown flesh with a flavor she compares to cooked pear and caramel.
Despite its title, "I almost poisoned myself with a fruit #tropicalfruit #fruit," the explanation she gives is impatience, not a poisoning diagnosis. Wearing strawberry earrings for the tropical-fruit encounter, she cuts open the ripe specimen to reveal its black seeds before trying again. Viewers turn the comments into a small geography lesson, offering names they use in Bangladesh, India, Jamaica and the Philippines.
Tasty Table posted two uploads this week. The sapodilla Short drew roughly 23,000 views in its first fourteen hours, making it the most-watched new arrival and the channel's busiest video by current daily viewing. "Real Treasures underfoot" also arrived, while the previous week's "I think I Found One Of The Rarest Exotic Fruit #fruit #tropicalfruit #rare" continues adding views at a gentler pace.
Across the catalog, the week brought roughly 909,000 views, with subscribers unchanged. Daily viewing is currently below its usual level. Among nearby food channels, Ryantagcoffee had a particularly busy viewing week; Tasty Table sat in the middle of that group for weekly views. Here, the freshest point of interest was a fruit that rewarded waiting rather than the first bite.
