A 'collapsed' M3 Touring market, and viewers who call it ordinary depreciation
Archie Hamilton's look at falling prices for BMW's fast estate passed 100,000 views, and a first look at Jaguar's new Type 01 followed five days later.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The BMW M3 Touring Market Has COLLAPSED!
Two uploads, one argument. Archie Hamilton's "The BMW M3 Touring Market Has COLLAPSED!" went up on October 2 and has passed 100,000 views, easily the busiest thing on the channel right now.
The subject is BMW's first-ever M3 estate, the long-awaited wagon the brand finally built on the G80 generation, and what has happened to its prices on the used market. The comment section has plenty to say about the word in capitals. Many viewers argue this is a normal car losing a normal amount of value, others point out that new ones can be had with big discounts off list, which drags used prices down with them. Some wonder whether the next-generation 3 Series is part of it, a few talk about finance deals ending after three years, and then the conversation wanders off happily into Alpine A110s, Ferrari 599s and one viewer asking whether looking at Taycans means they need help.
The second upload changes the mood entirely: "Exclusive FIRST LOOK At The NEW Jaguar Type 01!", posted on October 7 and past 10,000 views in its first day, on the car the description greets with "It is finally here!". Behind both, the MX-5-powered Mini van from the week before is still picking up viewers, which is a very Archie Hamilton mix: a market debate, a brand-new Jaguar and a bread van with a roadster's heart.
The channel moved at about its usual pace and added roughly 1,000 subscribers. Among the motoring channels close to its size, ReDriven is the busy one, far ahead on views over the week, while most of the others, ScannerDanner and Zip Ties N Bias Plies among them, are running well below their normal pace.

Generally buy a car after it's 4 years old BMW is no different to anybody else you're going to save an absolute fortune if you wait a few years and buy a car!
@danielshinerock1526See it on YouTubeYou can get between £10k - £15k off list price for the m3 touring, hence the second hand market is less…
@jonnyboy4340See it on YouTubeThe M3 is now 3 years old so coming off the cheap pcp deals and out of warranty. There are many around and they’re auto with turbos so will just keep falling for the time being.
It’s arguably better to buy a new one on a deal.
Lovely cars but don’t have the collectibility or rareness.
The 599 is the one to watch especially the HGTE as it has the enzo derived V12, it’s rare and the engine is a 620bhp masterpiece.
Look at the 355 market now - a white accident damaged LHD SOLD last night on collecting cars at 180 ish and there are only a handful on Autotrader - the most expensive now is 250…@DatelessRegistrationsRead it all on YouTubeOnly going to lose a grand a week on the Alpina though.😢
