Hemming pants without scissors: Amy's no-cut sewing shorts keep coming

A wide-sleeve fix from mid-September has passed 1.2 million views, and the new pants hack is following its pattern.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Amy, the sewer behind PASSION To PROFIT, spent the week on the small repairs that pile up at the bottom of a closet: pants that are too long, a shirt that hangs too low, a button that has given up. Four shorts went up, and three of them share one promise in the title: fix the fit without cutting the fabric.

The pants hack is the one people found. Posted on October 4, it passed 130,000 views in about two days, and its comment section reads like a small sewing circle from several countries. One viewer, writing in Portuguese, has already moved on to the next problem and wants to know how to let out a waistband. A Polish commenter asks how the trick looks once it is done on both legs.

The shirt version from October 2 is close behind, and between them sits an older relative: "Easy Sleeve Alteration," the wide-sleeve fix from three weeks ago, now well past a million views and still drawing almost as many daily viewers as the new pants short. Maybe the no-cut idea is simply what this audience came for. A hand-embroidery stitch from September 30, the one upload in the batch with nothing to alter, opened well and then went quiet.

The channel overall ran slower than its usual pace, adding about a thousand subscribers over the week. Even so, among the craft channels close to its size, only VivCrochets and Magic Pencil1 gathered more views, while Kelly Barlow Creations and Sewing Circle both ran well above their own norms. The newest short, a plain guide to sewing a button back on, went up only hours ago.
