A lace-and-applique skirt, and a soundtrack I_thriftflip's viewers want as a ringtone

The London thrift-flipper's only new short of the week added a butterfly appliqué to a skirt, while a 26-day-old bolero set closes in on nine million views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Lace, an appliqué butterfly and a plain thrifted skirt: that was the whole recipe for I_thriftflip's one new short, "Upcycle my skirt with lace and applique," posted on Monday. It passed 100,000 views inside its first day, and the comment section went somewhere unexpected.

Most of the talk is not about the stitching at all. It is about the sound. The most liked comments praise the audio over the clip, several viewers quote a line shouted in it about forgiveness being dead, one admits to jumping at the first shout, and another asks for it as a ringtone. A few do stop for the butterfly, and at least one viewer argues the skirt looked lovely before the lace went on. Others read it as a new format and welcome it.

The real engine of the channel is older. "Downsize t shirt dress into bolero top set" is 26 days old and nearing nine million views, still drawing far more each day than the new skirt. Behind it, a five-week-old hoodie turned into a 2000s Hollister-style v-neck keeps a steady trickle going, very much in keeping with the Y2K alt wardrobe her about page promises from London.

The whole channel is running well above its usual daily pace, and it picked up around 5,000 subscribers over the week. Among art and craft channels of a similar size, only abbyrosecases added more views, with PASSION To PROFIT also having a lively stretch while Kelly Barlow Creations and Fiber Flux held their usual pace.
