Australia's longest train keeps YouFishTV rolling between catches
A 474-day-old clip that has nothing to do with fishing has passed 300,000 views and still draws the channel's biggest daily crowd.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Australia's longest train
Winga and the Think BIG Crew posted nothing new over the seven days, and the video carrying the channel isn't about fish at all. "Australia's longest train," more than a year and three months old and past 300,000 views, still pulls in more daily viewers than everything else in the catalog put together.
Behind it sit two smaller reminders of the channel's Aussie roots. One is "Never go walking on an australian beach!", which ticks along. The other is a tribute from early September, "Today marks 20 years ago since we lost Steve Irwin...", marking two decades since the Crocodile Hunter died in 2006 while filming on the Great Barrier Reef. For a show that sells itself on chasing big results in every corner of the globe, the nod to Australia's most famous wildlife man fits.
Overall the channel held close to its usual pace, a little over 50,000 views for the week, with the subscriber count resting at 505,000. Among outdoors and fishing channels of similar size it was the calmest of the group. Fahim skills had another enormous week, and TN Gardening and More Than Farmers both ran well above their norms. Fellow Australian angler Briggsy Sport Fishing, by contrast, kept to its own steady rhythm.
For now the crew's quiet spell belongs to a very long train.
