Matt Robertson breaks the BLEEP button on MERCER-282

The Bassmaster pro's unfiltered podcast visit filled Dave Mercer's week, while a two-week-old underwater strike on a Berkley Jerk Shad drew the biggest daily crowd.

Matt Robertson came back to the Mercer Podcast, and according to the episode description nobody told him it was a family show. Episode 282 is billed as a no-script, no-filter hour: life on tour, the state of professional bass fishing, strong opinions and enough cursing to retire the bleep button. Underneath the chaos, the description promises a side of Robertson fans don't often see, the man behind the personality.

The comment section mostly wants more of him. Several viewers argue that B.A.S.S. should put Robertson on camera far more often, one comparing it to the hot mics of NASCAR team radio, and another simply wishes for a few beers with Dave, Matt and Seth. Two shorts cut from the conversation followed, one of them Robertson's take on the Elite Qualifiers and forward-facing sonar, which the channel itself warns might ruffle feathers.

The podcast is the week's biggest new upload, but the real traffic comes from underwater. "GIANT Largemouth OBLITERATES a Berkley Jerk Shad!", posted two weeks ago, has passed 329,000 views and pulls in about three times what the Robertson episode does each day. A Gilly strike from late September sits behind it, and on Tuesday a smallmouth hunting down a spinnerbait joined the series.

The channel as a whole ran a touch above its usual pace, and among outdoors channels close to its size it added the third-most views over the seven days, roughly 2.5 million, just behind TN Gardening. Fahim skills had the biggest week in the group by a distance, while Dan Becker and YouFishTV kept to their usual rhythm.
