Forced reset triggers, Justice Alito and Brandon Herrera's run for Congress
The VSO Channel's three uploads all point at law and politics, from a trigger dispute to a possible Supreme Court vacancy and a fellow gun YouTuber's campaign in Texas.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
What’s Going to Happen With FRTs?
The VSO Channel spent its week less on the range than on the courthouse steps. All three new uploads deal with how gun law gets made, argued over and voted on.
The most watched is "What's Going to Happen With FRTs?", a walk through the fight over forced reset triggers, the device at the center of a long dispute between the ATF and the maker Rare Breed. The host offers what the description calls his best guess at why the government keeps stepping into the market for a product he considers legal, with a clear note that he is not a lawyer. In the comments, many viewers ask why the other trigger makers have not joined forces in court, and the phrase "common use" comes up again and again.
Three days later came a video on Justice Samuel Alito saying he may retire after this term, which is not yet an official vacancy. The newest upload, on Brandon Herrera's congressional campaign in Texas's 23rd district, is the one gathering views fastest. Herrera, known to gun-channel viewers as the AK Guy, is a YouTube creator himself, so for this audience it is something close to a neighbor's race.
Overall the channel ran at roughly half its usual daily pace, and subscribers held at 430,000. Among similar channels, Daniel Davis and Royal Armouries had the busiest weeks. The VSO Channel landed in the middle of the group.
