A Geissele URGI on the shot timer, and a Ghost Recon lookalike

SPARTAN117GW's only new video runs Geissele's rifle against the SG Timer 2, while a Black Hawk Down loadout from June sits past 445,000 views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Close to 97.4 million total views sit behind SPARTAN117GW, and the channel's single new upload of the week is a short, simple one: "Running the Geissele URGI on the SG Timer 2." The URGI is Geissele's take on the Upper Receiver Group Improved, the updated M4-style upper built for US special operations, and the SG Timer is a shot timer, so the premise is speed and control on a rifle that gun fans already know by name.

It picked up close to 5,000 views on its first day and has kept going since. The comments, though, are less about splits than about the shooter. The most liked one says she looks like a character out of Ghost Recon Breakpoint, another spots IQ from Rainbow Six Siege, and a few viewers argue over the rifle itself, one asking how an 11.5-inch barrel shows so little recoil, another unconvinced by the setup.

The older shelf is still doing its part. "Delta Force Blackhawk Down Loadout H&R M653 - Venture Surplus," from about four months ago, has passed 445,000 views and still draws a few hundred a day, with the MW2 Army Ranger 2009 loadout behind it. Fittingly for a channel named after Master Chief, the costume-accurate loadouts from films and games remain its signature.

Overall the channel ran a little under its usual pace, and subscribers held at 410,000. Among the military and weapons channels close to its size, Daniel Davis / Deep Dive and Combat Veteran News gathered by far the most views, while SPARTAN117GW sat right alongside TheGunCollective and Legally Armed America.
