Dana White calls building a business from home 'impossible' on The Diary Of A CEO
Steven Bartlett's channel added about 100,000 subscribers in a single day, even though its views ran below their usual pace.
Why this story? The channel is adding 100,001 subscribers a day, 5.6 times a normal day (17,882).
Steven Bartlett's guest chair keeps doing the recruiting. The Diary Of A CEO added about 100,000 new subscribers in a single day, several times its usual daily gain, and now stands at roughly 20.3 million.
The other column runs the opposite way. Views across the channel came in below their normal daily pace, so more people were signing up while fewer were watching overall. That fits the wider mood: most of the big podcast channels around its size, from Joe Rogan's to the Shawn Ryan Show, are running quieter than usual too.
The biggest thing on the channel is Dana White. His full episode went up on October 5 and has passed 1.7 million views, and its title carries his bluntest line: "This Generation Thinks You Can Build A Business From Home, It's Impossible!" Over almost an hour and a half, the UFC boss moves from his childhood and his father to hiring, being "a savage in business" and trusting his gut over focus groups. The description bills it as the story of a struggling promotion bought for $2 million and turned into a global giant. Later chapters ask whether he believes in manifestation, whether he has forgiven his mother, and why he thinks he will win at boxing.
The short follow-ups came quickly. The most watched of them so far is "DANA WHITE DIDN'T WANT WOMEN IN THE UFC UNTIL THIS...", ahead of newer clips on ADHD and on trusting your gut.
Did White bring the newcomers? Perhaps. Last week, as we reported here, Shawn Ryan was the one across the table, and subscribers were arriving even faster then. Together the two weeks have added about 300,000 subscribers in seven days.
