Sandstorm at the Royal Albert Hall nears two million for the Royal Marines bands

WO1 Mike Robinson's Ibiza Prom Classics, with DJ Tony Perry on the decks, stays the channel's busiest video, while a new march for the cadets went up beside it.

What happens when a military band plays dance-floor anthems? On The Bands of HM Royal Marines' channel, it becomes the video people keep opening. "Ibiza Prom Classics", the Massed Bands' trip from Sandstorm to Sunrise arranged by WO1 Mike Robinson, is closing in on two million views more than three months after it went up. It features DJ Tony Perry alongside singers and players from the band. Its encore, with Cpl Kirsty Haines and LCpl Elodie Lawry, is still finding its own smaller crowd.

All of it comes from the Mountbatten Festival of Music, and so did both of the week's new uploads. "Harkness" is a piece by Sgt Martyn Chapman written to celebrate the Volunteer Cadet Corps, and the most liked comment under it points out that the young players in the middle are Royal Marine Cadets. It passed 13,000 views. Three days later came "Corps Values, Modern War", a film made by the Royal Navy's Video Production Unit and shown with a live score by CSgt Paul Saggers.

The gentlest reminder of the band's range is still LCpl Cally Jones singing Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" in the same hall, now past 1.9 million views.

Views ran below the channel's usual daily pace, and about a thousand new subscribers arrived, taking it to 406,000.
