How does someone fast enough to rearrange incoming missiles handle a surprise video call? By cleaning the entire house before answering, naturally. Sona Darus' Sonic compilation finds plenty of uses for super-speed that have nothing to do with saving the world.

The clips channel's edit drew an estimated 1.4 million views in its first day, roughly twelve times its usual start for a Short. It brings together scenes from the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog films, rather than presenting a new adventure.

Sonic tears apart Dr. Robotnik's highway drone while narrating the action like a livestream. Elsewhere, he takes a turtle on a sprint and turns an arcade basketball game into an excuse to jump through the hoop himself. Ben Schwartz's rapid-fire delivery gives even the robot destruction a running commentary: "Hey everyone, welcome back to my livestream. Today we're destroying robots."

But the lake sequence supplies the line viewers keep returning to. Suddenly unable to solve his problem by running, Sonic shouts: "I can't swim! Help! If I die, don't look in my closet!" The comments repeatedly pick out that last request, while others suggest fictional speedsters who might challenge the title's claim.

The edit eventually brings Tails and Knuckles into the action for a London sprint past traps and across Abbey Road, with Sonic's confidence still running ahead of everyone else's warnings.
