Spot offers Arlo part of a beetle to eat. Arlo recoils. As introductions to wilderness survival go, it neatly establishes who needs help and who knows what they're doing.

The scene opens meetsstar's fast-starting Short assembled from Pixar's The Good Dinosaur (2015). This is a clips channel's edit of the film, with music and subtitles, rather than a new adventure from the studio. Its early viewing pace is far above the channel's usual start for Shorts.

The friendship promised in the title takes a bumpy route. Arlo panics on a cliff ledge, while Spot treats the landscape as somewhere to find food and tackle danger. When a huge snake interrupts their berry hunt, it's the human boy who confronts it. The dinosaur may have the size, but his companion has the survival instincts.

That reversal has caught viewers' attention: some comments joke that the dinosaur and human seem to have exchanged roles. Another viewer remembers the film as their grandmother's favorite and plans to ask her to watch it together again.

For meetsstar, Arlo and Spot extend a run of animated-film edits that includes Hiro's microbots in Big Hero 6 and Gwen's family adventures in Migration. The channel has also added tens of thousands of subscribers over the past week.
