Sixty-five vehicles and four people trapped: SkinnyMedic studies an I-95 pileup

The paramedic's after-action review of a South Carolina highway crash, with 15 tractor-trailers in the mix, was the most watched of his nine uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

SkinnyMedic spent part of his week on the kind of scene most drivers hope never to see. "Trapped in the Wreck: Analyzing the I-95 Disaster" walks through a pileup in South Carolina that, by his description, involved 65 vehicles, 15 of them tractor-trailers, with four people trapped. He treats it as an after-action review: how responders split their resources on a scene that size, and how the trapped were reached and freed. It drew a little over 3,000 views, the most of anything he posted.

The crash also shaped the week's newest short. Posted on Monday, "Car Crash Survival: Your Safest Strategy Revealed!" makes a point that runs against instinct: in a chain of wrecks, staying inside your car may be safer than stepping out into traffic. Within a day it was already drawing more daily views than the longer video.

The rest of the nine uploads looked like the channel's about text, which promises medical gear alongside the trauma lessons. There was a short on what a Stop the Bleed kit is for, a tour of tourniquets, Israeli bandages and QuikClot, and a stock update of farm-animal Band-Aids for small patients. Then there was a sunrise on the farm, with horses and goats out in the pasture and their enrichment toys.

The channel as a whole ran at a bit over half its usual daily pace, and subscribers held steady. That is common in his corner this week: Jason Fung and Medlife Crisis are also well below their norm, while Healthcare Triage and Kevin Jubbal are a little above theirs.
