Tsundere, femboys and cringe flashbacks: wikiHow's Friday lineup

Four explainers went up on October 2, from an anime archetype to forgetting a humiliating moment, while the guides library carried the channel.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What is the Tsundere Archetype? What is the Tsundere Archetype?

An ordinary day on wikiHow brings in about 330,000 views, and this week looked almost exactly like that. The surprise is where those views come from: hardly any of them come from anything new.

Eight uploads went up, and the most watched was a Monday short about getting a crush to notice you without saying a word. Its comment section is small and self-aware. One viewer says they will now check whether anyone does this to them, and another admits they are simply not the intended audience.

Friday was the busy day. Four explainers arrived at once, and the one picking up speed fastest is "What is the Tsundere Archetype?", a guide to the anime character who acts cold and prickly while secretly caring, complete with the classic denial line. Close behind is a dating guide to femboys that leans on respect for self-expression, then a gentler piece on letting go of embarrassing memories, which the description calls a tiny blip nobody else remembers.

Among the health and medicine channels of a similar size, wikiHow gained the second most views over the week, a little over two million, behind only ADHD Love. Medlife Crisis had the livelier week of the smaller channels, running far above its usual pace. For wikiHow, the steady pull of its huge back catalog is the routine, and it held.
