A 9.9 from the comments, and a hello for Brittany, on Sam Fricker's dive
Three shorts went up under nearly the same name on the same day, and one of them drew more than ten times the crowd of the other two.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 123,005 views a day, 13 times a normal first day on this channel (9,751).
Sam fricker diving
Sam Fricker posted three dives on the same day and gave all three the plainest possible name. Two of them, "Sam fricker diving" and "Sam Fricker Diving.", each settled at around 10,000 views, which is about what a new short from the Australian diver usually gathers on its first day. The third ran far ahead of both and passed 130,000 views in a little over a day.
The title and tags offer no clue about what sets this one apart, so the comment section has to do the explaining. Viewers scored it like a panel at a pool deck: one calls it a clean entry worth a 9.9, another goes the full 10, and one holds out with a dry "decent dive." Several greet Brittany by name, saying they enjoy the videos she appears in, and one viewer singles out Fricker's laughter as much as the dive itself. Not everyone is won over by the soundtrack, though the song is never named.
The busier pace shows across the whole channel, which is running ahead of its usual daily views. The next day brought another "Sam fricker diving", a "#mykonos" short, and something outside the pool entirely: a gym session with his local federal member of parliament, Simon Kennedy.
