A hypnotist, a magician and a tarot reader test Friends From Work

The group's only upload of the week asks whether magic and mind-reading are real, and drew close to 340,000 views in its first day and a half.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Thirty-two hours online, and "We Got Hypnotized To See If It's Fake" had already passed 339,000 views, most of them inside its first day. It was the only new video on Friends From Work this week, and it pulled the whole channel to roughly twice its usual daily pace.

The premise is in the description: is magic real, can minds be read, and is Bach secretly an alien? To find out, the friends sat down with a hypnotist, a magician and a tarot reader, and the comment section has opinions about all three. The tarot reader is the big talking point, with viewers fixing on how she pronounced the word and whether she knew what a pentacle was. The magician gets a warmer kind of attention: plenty of people admit they were baffled from start to finish.

Then there are the two Arthurs. Viewers single out Arthur Hill's hypnosis segment as the funniest stretch of the video, and note that ArthurTV barely gave it a try. One listener remembers Bach saying on the group's podcast that he would simply play along if hypnotized, while Arthur insisted he would not.

Behind it, the street game "You Laugh You Lose in Public", where strangers win a prize for cracking the group up, is nine days old and closing in on a million views. Among similar challenge channels, Make Waves and JakeTheJuice are having the biggest weeks, while Friends From Work sits in the middle of the group, a few thousand subscribers richer.
