Kyle Chandler Puts on the Green Lantern Suit
Two days old and already the channel's most watched new video: "Kyle Chandler Puts on the Green Lantern Suit," a Short in which the Friday Night Lights star talks about what it felt like to wear the ring-bearer's costume for Lanterns, the DC Studios series for HBO. Chandler plays Hal Jordan, and the tags place him beside Aaron Pierre's John Stewart. The clip passed 18,000 views in about a day and a half.
The comments under it are less about the suit than about who made it. Several viewers single out Chandler for crediting the design team, and naming its lead designer, when he could have kept the praise for himself. Another asks the question the clip leaves open: where is the mask?
The other two uploads went to two very different shows. Florence Pugh, a day into her Short, talks about the freedom of playing Cathy in Netflix's new East of Eden, a character she describes as living a long life with more than one side to it. Earlier in the week, Ryan Murphy named his favorite character from all 13 seasons of American Horror Story.
The channel as a whole ran a little below its usual pace and added about a thousand subscribers. Among the movie and TV channels around its size, Movie House had the big week, while TV Guide and Dominic Noble were quieter too. Meanwhile, a five-week-old horror recommendation Short, past 310,000 views, keeps finding people looking for something scary.
