Video taking off 7.6x its usual first day

Rich Eisen insists he doesn't sound like that, and Overreaction Tuesday's comments disagree

The weekly segment runs from the winless Texans to the 49ers and Seahawks, but the moment viewers keep replaying is a protest about Rich's own voice.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 192,583 views a day, 7.6 times a normal first day on this channel (25,446).

Overreaction Tuesday: Rich Eisen Talks 49ers, Seahawks, Eagles, Texans, Broncos & MoreOverreaction Tuesday: Rich Eisen Talks 49ers, Seahawks, Eagles, Texans, Broncos & More

Overreaction Tuesday is the slot where Rich Eisen takes the loudest takes from an NFL weekend and decides which ones deserve a second thought. This edition covers a lot of ground. The description lists Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr., the 49ers and Seahawks ahead of their Week 5 meeting, whether the 0-4 Texans can still talk about the playoffs, the Eagles' postseason odds and whether the Broncos are headed for a January at home.

The comment section, though, keeps landing a little over two minutes in. Rich protests that he does not sound like that, and viewer after viewer answers, with timestamps and laughing faces, that yes, he does. Several give the credit to Chris Brockman, the show's longtime producer and on-air foil, and one commenter says Chris is on fire. Others asked for the segment to run longer on Tuesdays, and a smaller but persistent group just wants the volume turned up.

The football still gets its due. One of the most liked comments backs the idea of putting the 49ers and Seahawks against the rest of the conference for the top seed. That is a pairing the show had already chewed on: in an interview posted the same day, Super Bowl LV-winning coach Bruce Arians told Rich it is Seattle, not San Francisco, that runs the NFC West.

The segment passed 100,000 views in its first nine hours, where a regular video here usually ends its whole first day near 25,000. Its comments came in many times faster than usual too, and most of them were about one sentence.
