One sphere among the cubes: Reighar's 'Work Smarter, Not Harder' meets the pharaoh joke
The short's comment section turned into a building site, with viewers worrying about pyramids, cut corners and the worker who would not just carry the block.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 885,605 views a day, 17 times a normal first day on this channel (52,684).
Work Smarter, Not Harder 👍
What happens when the clever shortcut makes the actual job impossible? That is the question hanging over "Work Smarter, Not Harder 👍", the newest short from Reighar, the animated storytelling channel voiced by @twistedpinttavern. It passed half a million views within ten hours, where a short here usually finishes its whole first day at around 50,000.
The comments explain the appeal better than the title does. Many viewers recognize an old internet joke in it: workers hauling building blocks, and one who carves his cube into a ball so it rolls more easily. The replies pick up from there. Supply managers count 999 cubes and one sphere, a foreman tells the pharaoh the pyramid will be late, and others point to the familiar follow-up panel where someone simply asks where the cube went. The puns arrived too, with more than one viewer noting that the smart worker literally cut corners.
Not everyone is joking. A practical group argues that a reusable cart, or two people carrying each block together, would beat a sphere that wobbles off to one side. Others see a lesson about the difference between being smart and being a know-it-all. All of it piled up quickly: the comments came in more than five times faster than on a usual first day.
It was not the only short doing well. "The Story Behind Bohemian Rhapsody 💯", posted the same day and built around Queen's 1975 epic, ran far ahead of the channel's usual start as well, and "They Saved Every Office Plant 🌱" and "How to Wear Men's Shirts 👕" had strong starts of their own. Few channels get a run like that from cubes, a rock opera, houseplants and a lesson in buttoning a shirt.

What viewers say
Hey, uh, we ordered 1000 cubes, but we got 999 cubes and one sphere. Can anyone tell me what happened?
