Which basketball team did Senator Eric Schmitt mean? According to the description of Rebel HQ's busiest new video, the Missouri Republican accused former special counsel Jack Smith of lying to Congress, but the evidence he leaned on mixed up an Iowa Hawkeyes game with an Atlanta Hawks game. Jamie Raskin called it out, and David Shuster walked through it in "Raskin RIPS Schmitt As MAGA Senator Blunder Goes Viral." It drew more than 200,000 views in its first day.
Shuster was the busiest voice of the week. He also took on Speaker Mike Johnson twice, once over Elizabeth Warren's reaction to an extended House recess, with Thomas Massie's impeachment resolution and calls for AI safety rules in the mix, and once over Johnson telling CNBC's Squawk Box that the GOP's next two years would look exactly like the last two. Dr. Elliott Morgan's piece on Canada making Republicans pay for Trump's tariffs ran close behind the Schmitt video, while Richard Ojeda on Scott Bessent and the promised $5,000 check, and Jackson White on Jessica Tarlov's midterm warning, found smaller crowds.
In all, fifteen videos went up from the channel's roster of more than twenty contributors. Daily views sat a little under their usual level, a softer stretch shared by a few neighbors such as Jack Cocchiarella and Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey. Don Lemon and DeFranco News Clips, by contrast, are running well above their norms.
