Hasan Piker's criticism gets Emily Jashinsky's reply, at twenty-two times her usual start
In fourteen hours the comment section had passed three times a usual first day, while the short clip of Hasan's own remarks, posted alongside it, stayed small.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 71,456 views a day, 23 times a normal first day on this channel (3,167).
Hasan Piker Came After Emily...Here’s Her Response
Emily Jashinsky does not usually answer another commentator by name in a video title. When she did, it drew a crowd. "Hasan Piker Came After Emily...Here's Her Response" passed 54,000 views in its first fourteen hours. That puts it on course for about twenty-two times a usual first day on After Party.
The subject is the debate over transgender issues and children. Piker, the left-wing Twitch streamer, had criticized an argument she made. According to the description, Jashinsky takes up the questions about the data she cited on gender-transition procedures for minors. She then argues that Piker is sidestepping her larger point, which is who first carried these debates into schools, sports, locker rooms and libraries. The segment also finds unexpected agreement between the two on Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear's approach to the issue. She explains why she thinks Republicans are handling the culture war badly, and she ends by defending Piker's right to speak on college campuses.
The channel also posted a short clip of Piker's original remarks that day. It drew only a small fraction of the views the reply did. The reply's comment section moved faster than the views: in fourteen hours it had more than three times the comments of a usual full first day. Much of the talk is about Piker himself, and several viewers bring up his recent interview on Breaking Points, the show where many first met Jashinsky.
Three days earlier, her Monday episode was about Madonna and Dave Portnoy. Pop culture and politics share the bill here, as the channel's about text promises.
