Democracy Watch, a channel that reposts segments from The Young Turks network's shows, put up a Damage Report clip about Canada, and it traveled far beyond the channel's usual crowd. Thirteen hours after it went up, "Trump LOSES IT In Full Meltdown After Stunning Canada Prime Minister Blow" had passed 135,000 views. A new upload here usually finds around 11,000 in its whole first day.

The moment at the center of it is small. At a housing announcement on a Toronto construction site, Mark Carney was speaking in French when his teleprompter stopped working. He switched to English to tell the crowd, and added a dry aside: unlike a certain world leader, he did not see it as a conspiracy. In the segment, John Iadarola sets that joke beside the President's remarks on Canada and the tariff dispute between the two countries. The video's description calls those remarks a meltdown.

The comments arrived at roughly nine times the pace of a usual first day. Many of them are about Carney's sense of humor, and several commenters point out that it surprised them from a former central banker with a buttoned-up reputation.
