Bricked Samsung fridges and a $400 GTA 6 box without the game: Paul's tech news

The Sunday news show, edited by Joe Aguilar, also ran through Micron's GDDR7 exit and Intel's Nova Lake socket, while a 15-day-old RTX 5090 confession keeps drawing the most daily views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Nvidia WinsNvidia Wins

"Nvidia Wins" is the September 27 edition of Paul's Tech News, the weekly roundup on Paul's Hardware, and it opened briskly, with more than 150,000 views on its first day. The lead story gets the title, but the briefs underneath are where the odd news lives: Micron dropping its 2GB GDDR7 chips for gaming cards, AMD readying its Linux driver for GDDR7 ahead of the next Radeons, LGA1954 parts surfacing on the road to Intel's Nova Lake, and owners of Samsung smart fridges mourning spoiled food after a firmware update bricked them.

Grand Theft Auto ran through the week twice. The news show noted that a $400 Vice City collectible set does not include the game, and two days earlier Paul posted a separate video with a title that says plenty on its own: "GTA 6 Doesn't Need This..."

Those were the week's only two uploads, and neither is the channel's busiest video right now. That is "I was wrong about the RTX 5090," fifteen days old and nearing 600,000 views, which still draws about twice the daily viewing of anything newer. Episode 31 of Build Fix, the PCPartPicker-powered series where Paul reworks viewers' parts lists, comes next, with a $1,200 AM4 build, an Intel LGA 1700 upgrade and a DDR5 machine priced, as the chapter list puts it, for science.

Overall the channel ran a little below its usual daily views, around 58,000 a day. Most of the tech channels nearest its size are in the same softer stretch, ZONEofTECH and Insert Richie among them; Switch and Click is one of the few running ahead of its norm.
