Fifty-seven childhood Pokémon cards go to PSA for Hipyo Tech
The Seattle keyboard builder traded switches for grading slabs in his main video, then came back to a Royal Kludge board he says left him feeling wronged.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
PSA Ruined my Childhood.
A usual day on Hipyo Tech brings in around a million views, and right now the channel is running about a third above that. Most of the lift is not coming from anything new.
The newest long video, though, is the most personal. "PSA Ruined my Childhood." follows the Seattle creator as he digs out his childhood Pokémon collection and sends 57 cards off to PSA, the best-known grading company in the hobby. The description asks whether grading Pokémon is a scam. The title gives away roughly how he felt about the answer. It passed 100,000 views in five days, and a short teaser, "Did I get SCAMMED?! 😭", pointed people toward it the next day.
The keyboards never really left. "This keyboard is SILENT?! 😳" is a short about a Royal Kludge board, captioned with the complaint that he feels wronged.
The busiest video on the channel is twelve days old. "My Most Requested Keyboard Ever." is his look at the Gravastar Mercury V60 Pro. The description says thousands of viewers asked for it, and it asks whether the board is the best gaming keyboard around or just overhyped. It is closing on two-thirds of a million views and still drawing the most each day.
Among tech channels of a similar size, Paul's Hardware is also running well above its usual pace. META PCs, which shares Hipyo Tech's subscriber count, is a little quieter than its normal days, though it is still the busiest in the group by far.
