Dexter: Resurrection | Season 2 Official Trailer | Paramount+
A new video on Paramount Plus usually opens to a few thousand views. Most are short clips pulled from the library: a Star Trek moment, a Friday Night Lights joke. The Season 2 trailer for Dexter: Resurrection passed two million views in its first thirteen hours, hundreds of times the channel's usual first day.
The timing helped the moment, whatever it did for the views. The trailer went up on October 1, twenty years to the day after Dexter's pilot first aired on Showtime in 2006, and many commenters noticed. Michael C. Hall is still the man with the kill room. Resurrection, which began in 2025, took Dexter Morgan out of the snowy small town of New Blood and into New York. The description has only one line of its own, "Some things get better with age," and the date: the season premieres October 30.
The comment section filled with a few thousand replies, where the channel's short clips usually collect a handful, and much of it is frame-by-frame work. Viewers point to the last shot, at 1:41, as a mirror of the final image in the original show's opening titles, and some take it as a hint that the old intro is coming back. Others are sure they spotted Dexter back in a homicide department, and a name from the past, Kyle Butler, gets its own loud welcome. Then there is the wish that keeps coming up: an Emmy for Hall at last. He was nominated several times for this role and never won.
It arrived a day after Tulsa King's Season 4 trailer, as we reported here. This time it was Dexter's turn. Twenty years in, he is still the one people stop the video to study.

It’s the 20th Anniversary of the pilot’s premiere: October 1, 2006. Insane that it’s been 20 years.
