【79歳の女逮捕】「病院の時間が迫っていた」 男性をボンネットに乗せたまま車走行か
Security cameras captured a white car traveling through Kashihara, Japan, with a man clinging to its hood. The driver, a 79-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Japan's Nippon Television News (日テレNEWS) reports.
The footage shows the car continuing along the road and around a curve while the man holds on. An eyewitness describes hearing him shouting for the driver to stop and seeing him gripping the windshield wipers. The witness estimated that the vehicle was traveling at ordinary road speed, rather than crawling.
According to the report, the confrontation began in an apartment complex parking lot, after the woman's car door struck the man's vehicle and an argument followed. A computer reconstruction illustrates investigators' account: the man stood in front of her car while speaking to police by phone, and she drove forward, forcing him onto the hood. That sequence is an animation, not security-camera footage.
The broadcaster reports that the car traveled about 2.2 kilometers over eight minutes. The man got off when it stopped at a red light and suffered minor injuries, including bruising to his right hand.
The report shows the suspect being transferred from Kashiba Police Station to prosecutors. It says she acknowledged continuing to drive because her hospital appointment was approaching, but denied any intention to kill.
