Nova's field, a Culver City bus driver and Mookie Betts fill NBCLA's week

Fifteen uploads ran from the third anniversary of the Hamas-led attack to the Dodgers' clubhouse after their NLDS win over the Braves.

NBC's Los Angeles station posted fifteen videos over the week, and the most watched of the newest ones looked far from home. Israelis gathered on Wednesday to mark three years since the Hamas-led attack of October 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage. A second report went to the site of the Nova music festival, where mourners embraced on the field where festivalgoers were killed. A third covered President Trump saying he had spoken with Benjamin Netanyahu on the anniversary.

Closer to home, the station reported on the shooter who killed a Culver City bus driver, as officials called for more protection for transit operators. City politics came up too: LAPD Chief McDonnell said he was disappointed by Councilmember Nithya Raman's "fascist liars" video, pointing to officers injured during anti-ICE protests last year.

The lightest moment belongs to the Dodgers. After the NLDS win over the Braves, Mookie Betts talked about a team that, in his words, all love each other.

The channel ran well under its usual daily pace and added about 1,000 subscribers, reaching 422,000. Even so, among the local news stations closest to it in size, none gathered more views over the week. Most of them were running quieter than usual too, with CP24 holding close to its normal pace and FOX 13 Seattle a little above it.
