Three Gray Sisters, one eye and a wild cab ride: meetsstar's Percy Jackson short

A clip from the 2013 sequel Sea of Monsters, posted in September, has picked up speed weeks later, and its comments keep comparing the taxi to the Knight Bus.

This Taxi Ride Was Crazy! 🚕💨😂｜Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013)#shorts #film

Who is driving that taxi? The Gray Sisters, the three old women of Greek myth who share a single eye between them, and in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013) they are the worst cab drivers in the underworld's orbit. meetsstar's short, "This Taxi Ride Was Crazy!", cuts together their reckless dash with Percy, Annabeth and Tyson in the back seat, then follows the trio out to sea on a hippocampus, the horse-fish that Poseidon sends to carry them toward the Princess Andromeda.

The short went up on September 11 and spent its first weeks at an easy pace. It has now passed 300,000 views and is moving many times faster than it usually does.

The comments read like a film club. The most liked one points out that the taxi scene owes a lot to the Knight Bus from Harry Potter, and another viewer notices how hurt Percy looks when Poseidon answers Tyson and not him. Several people ask what the movie is called, one mistakes the sisters for the Fates, and someone simply wants to know why there is only one eye. Drachmas, the fare the sisters charge, get a nostalgic mention too.

meetsstar is a clips channel run by a small editing team that recuts scenes from other people's films in After Effects, and the Percy Jackson short is not even its biggest mover. A Police Academy clip about Larvell Jones, the cadet who can imitate almost any sound, went past two million views within a week, and a Red One short about Santa's head of security is climbing quickly behind it.
