X-Men | 🥶 Iceman Is Called an Omega-Level Mutant for a Reason ❄️#shorts #movierecap
Twelve hours, 370,000 views. For Sona Darus, a movie recap channel whose new shorts usually finish their whole first day short of 13,000, that is a very different kind of start.
The short is a quick portrait of Iceman, Bobby Drake, as Shawn Ashmore played him in Fox's X-Men films. The description traces him from a student at Xavier's School learning to make ice walls and slides to a reliable member of the team. Its beats, a school in crisis and a family uneasy about his being a mutant, follow the story of X2. The title's "Omega-Level" borrows the comics' top rank for a mutant's power.
The comments, already about twice as many as a usual first day in half the time, mostly follow the actor. The most liked one points out that Ashmore went on to play Lamplighter in The Boys, and others spot him as Wesley in The Rookie. Fans of the films remember him finally turning fully into ice in The Last Stand and his grim end at the hands of the Sentinels in Days of Future Past, while one viewer works out how much energy it takes to freeze a swimming pool.
The Iceman short lands in a superhero run. A Kitty Pryde short from two days earlier is near the same total, and the channel's Invisible Woman short from Fantastic Four has just passed a million views.

@foxhero1337See it on YouTubeDo you know how much energy you have to remove from a standard pool to freeze it? Roughly the equivalent of 6 tons of TNT
