MeatEater Season 14 | Official Trailer
Texas and Michigan are on the itinerary, but MeatEater's Season 14 trailer points toward a much longer journey north. The season begins November 2 at 8 p.m. ET, with Steven Rinella joining Inuit hunters in the Canadian Arctic to pursue beluga whales, seals and giant landlocked cod. Clay Newcomb's winter outing adds a dog-sled pursuit of a polar bear.
That preview arrived during a five-upload week largely spent with Ryan "Cal" Callaghan. "Hunting Giant Brown Bears | MeatEater's 12 in '26" follows Cal and guides Kyle and Brandon across the Alaska Peninsula, carrying both a traditional bow and a rifle. The sponsored episode also makes room for camp food, hide preparation and a question about whether brown bear meat tastes fishy.
Its ptarmigan detour supplied the week's most-watched upload. Cal's lost-wallet demonstration has reached roughly 668,000 views: he walks casually at angles, avoiding direct eye contact, as though searching the tundra for something dropped. Viewers are trading memories of similar approaches to rabbits and deer, including accidental close encounters while searching for golf balls.
That clip remains the channel's busiest daily draw, followed by "Cal's Overland Hunting Adventure | Call Off Road Ep. 2" and the full bear hunt. Across the channel, the week brought nearly four million views and an unchanged subscriber total. Daily viewing is currently running at about half its usual level, though MeatEater had a substantial weekly audience among nearby outdoor channels; Nate Petroski also had a particularly busy week.
Cal's overland episode gives the week's hunting stories another setting, while Rinella's trailer expands the map all the way to the Arctic.

I have a secret technique too. I act like I'm squirrel and rabbit hunting because that's when I usually see all the deer
@IchibunsSee it on YouTubeI actually lost my wallet.
@jimmymorrison2491See it on YouTubeI’ve never gotten so close to a deer as I have when I’ve been looking for my golf ball in the woods. Checks out

took long enough for someone to say this publicly. first ive ever seen it. used it forever on all types of animals.
@secondrandomreloaderSee it on YouTubeMy grandpa taught me this years ago. It works. Mostly trying to act like your just another prey animal instead of an intense locked on predator is the goal. Body language and such.
@hadleytorres8171See it on YouTubeCal has been 1 of my faves for years
@levimosser747See it on YouTubethis is how I would close up on rabbits when there wasn't any cover, glad to hear from the pros that it's a real technique
