SilverFarms' silo refill starts with a shovel, not more corn
A look inside the farm's 1970 Harvestore shows the manual work needed before the next load can go in.

The corn left over from the last fill has become a job of its own. Before SilverFarms can refill the silo, someone has to shovel enough of it aside to get the unloading equipment back where it belongs.
"We did not get the silo empty this year, which means we get to shovel a few hundred bushels of corn," the narrator explains. The Short has drawn roughly 260,000 views in ten hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full first day for Shorts.
The seventh-generation Wisconsin dairy farmer takes the camera inside a Harvestore dating from 1970. A worker shifts the remaining feed while moving the auger back toward the doorway, its "home position" for filling. There is only a few weeks' worth of feed left, the narrator says, but clearing the equipment still takes about an hour.
Then comes the less visible side of getting ready: fitting the protective cover, testing that the mechanism moves corn properly, and putting wooden boards and the heavy hatch doors back in place. The narrator points out that this is a sealed silo, rather than a grain bin.
Viewers are asking practical questions of their own: whether they are looking at silage or kernels, and how much feed comes out each day. SilverFarms finishes with the equipment reset and the doors closed, hoping the refill itself can be done in a single day.
