Darius has Minecraft guidebooks open while the others nap in shifts. After losing supplies to a skeleton and later freezing in powdered snow, he starts building the farms the team needs. In a challenge full of elaborate equipment, that bit of old-fashioned homework has become a particular talking point.
MrBeast Gaming's "I Survived 100 Days In Realistic Minecraft" has passed 100 million views, nearly five months after its June release. It is still adding roughly half a million views a day, faster than its usual daily pace.
The setup brings the game into the room. Jimmy, Nolan, Chandler and Darius play from a replica Minecraft bedroom, wearing haptic vests that transmit in-game damage. When their characters sleep, the players must jump into real beds. Nolan commits enthusiastically enough to break his.
Their objective is to defeat the Ender Dragon before the deadline. Failure means drinking a smoothie made from every Minecraft food item. Another rule works more pleasantly: dropping cooked food into lava gets its real-world equivalent delivered to the door.
The expedition is hardly smooth. A ravine wipes out several players' inventories, and Darius's snowy journey costs him his horse and gear. But the comments repeatedly pick out his willingness to learn and handle the team's less glamorous work. His guidebook-assisted chicken farm and mob farm give that discussion something concrete: a beginner finding ways to be useful while the others catch some sleep.
