- 7:54Safari exposes layout problems, while Netflix and Sleeper make better use of the foldable screen.
- 13:25Dan explains why he plans to keep the Duo rather than his Pro Max.
Dan uses the iPhone Duo's outer screen most of the time. That is a useful wrinkle in MacRumors' foldable coverage: keeping the phone isn't simply about having the biggest possible screen open all day.
In "iPhone Duo Review: Why I'm Keeping It Over My Pro Max", he unfolds it mainly for multitasking and vertical video. The fingerprint sensor has grown on him, and he puts battery life between the 18 Pro and Pro Max. The missing telephoto camera bothers him more, while Safari illustrates how much app optimization remains to be done. He also addresses reports of screens cracking along the hinge, saying Apple offers replacements for affected units. The video includes a sponsored cloud-storage segment.
At roughly 264,000 views, it was the most watched of MacRumors' six uploads this week. Several commenters describe ordinary phones feeling strangely tall and narrow after using the Duo; others discuss tolerating first-generation quirks or waiting for better app layouts. The conversation is less about a specification sheet than the adjustment of going back.
The OLED iPad mini review now has the strongest daily viewing momentum, followed by the iOS 27.3 beta overview. The mini video tests its Acoustic Display speakers and asks whether OLED without ProMotion makes a worthwhile upgrade. More pointedly, it asks what job remains for the tablet when a Duo is already in the pocket.
MacRumors added around 780,000 views over the week, with its subscriber count unchanged. Among nearby-sized tech channels, SAMTIME and DanKamYouKnow had larger weekly audiences, while AppleTrack and fpt. were quieter. For MacRumors, the practical follow-up continues in the beta coverage: Siri actions across apps, Safari changes and Reachability for the Duo.

I’ve had the exact same experience. Picking up a slab phone after using the duo for a week seems so strange to me. It’s too tall and narrow. Seems like a ridiculous form factor now. We’ve forgotten how far we’ve gotten away from the original iPhone form factor when it was a compact little nugget like the Duo.
@rd4k04See it on YouTubeI've also experienced the weirdness of picking up a normal phone and finding it way too tall and narrow now. It reminds me of the early Z fold and how that immediately looked odd and sort of outdated even when it was new. Which is ironic since the duo shape hearkens back to something like the old BlackBerry or palm pilot.
@scribsandskets1179See it on YouTubeI bought this phone knowing it was a first generation phone. I expected there to be issues just like you’re saying, so I’m not even mad at it. My initial results, I rated it a 7 out of a 10 and it gets better every day. And I am somebody that came from a Samsung device, and their folds are really good too

I’m sticking with it. Mine arrives in about 3 weeks.
@fbalesSee it on YouTubeMine has been dispatched today - Counting the minutes until it arrives!
@MattHartwell88See it on YouTubeI feel the exact same way. It’s been a roller coaster but now I think I want to stay for the full ride. I get a new phone every year so I can endure the first-gen jank and watch it grow.
@RadBretSee it on YouTubeI use it 90% unfolded. Awesome. Just can’t wait for a MagSafe wireless charging car mount to accommodate horizontal unfolded mode.
