K/DA climbs out of its coffins with Miyeon and Soyeon on "FIRESTARTER"
Fortiche animates the virtual group's first new music video in years, with Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb joining the two original voices and an EP due October 21.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 8,940,181 views a day, 59 times a normal first day on this channel (152,312).
K/DA - FIRESTARTER ft. MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle, Sophie Powers, Mimi Webb (Official Music Video)
Four coffins stand in a candlelit hall in front of a memorial wreath marked K/DA. Then claws come through the lids. For a virtual pop group that last released new music with its ALL OUT EP in 2020, it is a very direct way of saying it is back.
The return landed hard. "FIRESTARTER" drew about nine million views in its first day on the League of Legends channel, where a new upload usually opens with a small fraction of that.
On screen, K/DA is still Ahri, Evelynn, Kai'Sa and Akali, four of the game's champions styled as a pop act. Behind them, two voices go back to the beginning: Miyeon and Soyeon of i-dle sang on "POP/STARS" in 2018, and that video remains the channel's most watched, at nearly 670 million views. Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb are the new arrivals.
The animation comes from Fortiche, and Sean Bankhead is credited with the choreography. After the mock funeral, the four storm a stage carrying lighters and gas cans. Akali raps among shattered statues and later rides a motorized skateboard that throws pink sparks across the arena floor. Kai'Sa dances through purple mist with glowing ribbon trails, and the finale moves to a bright concert stage in white and red, with fireworks and flames behind the group.
The comments read like a list of favorite frames. Viewers keep pointing to Evelynn's lipstick turning into fire, to a voguing sequence shown as if through a thermal camera, and to Akali's moves, which some compare with Soyeon's own live performances. Many take the coffin opening as a joke about how long they waited. The channel has already cut Kai'Sa's voguing into a Short of its own.
This is Riot's own release for its game, and the tags point to new K/DA skins arriving with it. It also comes in the middle of Worlds 2026, after True Damage's "Know My Name", as we reported here. The FIRESTARTER EP follows on October 21.
