"I have to say, I never plan a room," Lucinda Chambers says, standing in a home that gives Homeworthy plenty to explore. The red and yellow sitting room was once the children's playroom, and its Lego-inspired wall colors were her son's choice. Fashion credentials haven't turned this into a house where everything must obey its owner.
Chambers' tour was the most watched of Homeworthy's uploads this week, drawing nearly a quarter of a million views. She traces her route from selling Perspex jewelry at Camden Market to calling Vogue for a job, learning to type and becoming Grace Coddington's assistant. Around her are layered rugs, treasured ceramics and furniture she would rather mend than replace. The hallway makes room for postcards, handwritten notes and children's drawings.
Viewers are talking about the permission that gives them to collect and decorate on their own terms. Several describe their own move toward maximalism; another hadn't expected Chambers' home to be quite so eclectic.
Homeworthy posted 14 videos across the week. Another London visit brought journalist James Longman and his husband, Alex Brannan, into view, including a Syrian cabinet Longman first admired as a teenager and eventually brought home years later. Emily Slotte's converted Swedish schoolhouse added a different approach to collected interiors.
The audience grew by about 6,000 subscribers, while daily viewing is running comfortably above its usual level. Among nearby home-and-making channels, 731 Woodworks is also enjoying elevated viewing, while The Minimal Mom is close to its customary daily pace.
Homeworthy's strongest daily momentum currently belongs to food stylist Liberty Fennell's Cobble Hill apartment. Its French-farmhouse and Italian-kitchen influences fit into a Brooklyn space with a tiny working kitchen, flea-market finds and room to gather.
