Scarabs, the Eternity and a Halo Infinite DLC that never shipped

HiddenXperia's sources describe cut campaign plans, from a recurring Scarab to the Shadow of Intent arriving with Elite drop pods.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What was Halo Infinite supposed to be? HiddenXperia spent the week answering that, one source at a time, in three uploads that read like a box of unreleased blueprints.

The first, on September 30, went after the multiplayer: its beginnings as something called Halo 5.5, a payload mode, a roles system, a Big Team Operations idea and the reasons behind the rocky launch. Two days later came the one viewers are still writing under, billed as the holy grail: cut campaign content, the never-released story DLC and the tale of Tatanka and Ekur. The creator's own pinned note asks people to take it all with a grain of salt, while saying he worked hard to check his sources.

The comment section has turned into a wake. Many point to the same moment around the fourteen-minute mark, where the UNSC Eternity and the Shadow of Intent were apparently meant to arrive together. A Scarab as a recurring enemy also gets plenty of love. The time-bending enemy mechanics described around the thirteen-minute mark get the opposite: several viewers call them Prometheans on steroids and sound relieved they never shipped.

Then, on Monday, the channel turned from what was lost to what might come: the first leaks about Activision's Halo game, plus Frank O'Connor reappearing and Laura Fryer, the former Xbox producer, talking about her time with 343. Nine hours in, it had passed 100,000 views, the fastest start of the three by a distance.

The channel as a whole is running well below its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count moved only slightly, by about a thousand. Among similar gaming news channels it sits in the middle of the pack this week, while LegacyKillaHD is running several times above its usual pace.
