Texas Cat steps into hoser's geography lessons, and Loving County gets a mascot

The short about a nearly empty Texas county passed a million views, and the comments keep asking for more of its feline narrator.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Texas Cat says what...Texas Cat says what...

Who is Texas Cat? Judging by the comments under "Texas Cat says what...", he is the newest member of the hoser cast, and viewers want him back. The video, the most watched of seven uploads this week, has passed a million views, and the replies read like a fan club forming in real time: requests for more, Texans signing off on him, and plenty of people calling him a new character unlocked.

Under the cat there is a real geography question. Viewers point out that the place is Loving County, the least populated county in the United States, and a few chime in from there, including one who is working in the county right now and another who once tried to get a permit to visit a private historic site. One commenter explains why so few people seem to live there: much of the workforce is temporary, staying in cheap lodging before heading home.

The rest of the week went country by country. Egypt's awkward geography, Burkina Faso's surprising online fan base (with chapters on genuine support, propaganda and memes), a squabble over Sweden and how Monaco got so rich. The Egypt video had the best first day of the batch, and Monaco is still picking up speed two days in.

The quickest of all right now is the newest one, "How to actually get rich from AI," a day old and drawing more each day than anything else on the channel.

Views ran a little above hoser's usual pace, and the channel added about 4,000 subscribers, which leaves it just short of a million. Among the explainer and history channels nearest its size, hoser gathered the most views of the week, about 4.6 million, with BBC Timestamp the other busy one.
