The gunman drove through a secure perimeter and crashed into an outdoor lunch area before fatally shooting a woman, Hillsborough County Chief Deputy Frank Losat says in FOX 13 Tampa Bay's coverage of Wednesday's shooting at Citibank Center in Brandon.

An armed Citibank security guard then confronted the suspect inside the cafeteria. Gunfire was exchanged, and the suspect was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died, Losat says.

The briefing sets out how quickly the response unfolded: the first deputy entered a minute after the emergency calls began, and the security guard engaged the suspect shortly afterward. Deputies then searched the multi-building campus, where thousands of employees were on the property. Four other people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
