Jimmy Fallon brings out an interactive Senate map, a chief data analyst and all the equipment for a serious election breakdown. Then the analyst's text notifications start appearing on the board.
It's another sketch inside the Tonight Show monologue that contains the edited Trump "interview" we reported here earlier. This longer upload has drawn about 2.1 million views since yesterday, and the map routine gives it a different comic engine: a supposedly authoritative presentation that its presenter cannot keep under control.
Dave Kolpaski, a fictional analyst played by an actor, arrives ready to explain results in Texas, South Carolina and Maine. Repeated messages from Hims keep interrupting him, leaving Fallon to watch the explanation drift away from electoral geography. The notifications are part of the sketch, not an accidental broadcast of someone's private messages.
Before that, Fallon turns Trump's post-election response and red "VETO" hat into monologue material. An imagined Oval Office conversation uses a parody voiceover, while the faux interview rearranges existing Trump footage into comic answers. Neither is a genuine exchange with the president.
The closing stretch leaves the election map behind: Fallon shares a photograph of Bob Dylan meeting Pope Leo at the Vatican, then finds one last subject in Trader Joe's returning mystery tote bags.
