Floodwater in Glendale, and Fab Rats' tow truck goes to work for the town
Their small Utah town was hit by what the description calls one of the craziest floods they have ever seen, and the video passed half a million views in under two days.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Our Little Town Was Devastated by a Massive Flood!
Fab Rats usually spend their weeks pulling strangers out of mud and dragging junk back to life in the garage. This time the recovery job was their own hometown. "Our Little Town Was Devastated by a Massive Flood!" follows the crew through flooded roads and damaged homes and businesses, in a place the description says they have lived in a long time without ever seeing anything like it.
The video drew more than 400,000 views on its first day, and the whole channel is running at several times its usual daily pace. The comments read like a letter to a small town: people writing about neighbors who show up, a crew helping the local sheriff, and a lift boom and winch setup on a meat shop that one viewer recognizes as Fab Rats' own work. A lot of the attention goes to Gracie behind the camera, whose filming several viewers say is getting better, and to the deep idle of the tow truck, which at least one person could listen to all day.
The other new upload went back to Babe, the truck whose front end gave out 17 hours from home. "Mystery Solved! I Can't Believe I Missed THIS!" digs into what actually broke, and it opened strongly before settling into a gentler pace. Meanwhile "Everyone Was Stuck… Even the Tow Truck!", the lake recovery from three weeks ago, keeps finding people and is closing in on 900,000 views.
Among the DIY and building channels close to its size, Fab Rats sits in the middle for views gained over the week, behind CyFy and THE FLIPPED PIECE. Most of those neighbors are running below their usual pace right now. Fab Rats is the exception, carried by a flood it never asked to film.

Fab Rats once recovered a sunken boat from the bottom of Lake Powell. Which river was dammed to create that lake?
Lake Powell formed behind Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River, which was completed in the 1960s.
