'How will I get down...' asks Ethan Heinrichs, seven weeks later
The Canadian Rockies climber posted nothing new, and an August cliffhanger has passed two and a half million views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
How will I get down...
"How will I get down..." is a question Ethan Heinrichs put in a title in mid-August, and it is the one his viewers are clicking on most. The video has gathered more than two and a half million views, and at about seven weeks old it draws more each day than anything else on a channel built, as his about text puts it, on rock climbing and adventuring in the Canadian Rockies.
No new uploads went up over the week, so the work fell to the back catalog. Right behind the August climb is "I did NOT want to find this...", the biggest of the three at close to five million, with "No Parachute??" from early September a little further back. Ethan likes a title that stops just short of telling you what happened, and these three show it.
The pause shows in the totals. Daily views ran at roughly three quarters of their usual level, and subscriber numbers held where they were, at about 667,000. On a channel past a billion views in total, a slower week still means a lot of people watching: no channel close to his size among the outdoors and homesteading creators draws as many views a day. Canada in the Rough and BLOCKETH OUTDOORS were the ones running above their usual pace, while Farmhouse on Boone and Anne of All Trades were well below theirs.
None of the three busiest titles says how the day ended. Perhaps that is why viewers keep pressing play on the August climb.
